Retna Redux

As an artist I’m always inspired by other artists.  The hypnotic pattern on this dress reminds me of L.A. contemporary artist Retna’s recent murals.  It really makes me want to put brush to canvas this weekend or wear this dress to a few gallery openings!  Dress – Diane von Furstenberg (last seen here similar shape here), Shoes – Christian Louboutin (here), Clutch – old (similar here), Necklace – old (like this shape here)

When I was in Paris last month, I was seduced by the red lacquered sole of Christian Louboutin so I decided to buy my first pair (top left).  It is reported that Louboutin sells 600,000 pairs of shoes a year helping women feel confident and empowered.  I opted for The Pigalle, which is named after a neighborhood in Paris and one of Louboutin’s first beloved styles.  There is nothing boring about this basic nude pump.  With a super skinny heel and a low cut toe box revealing Louboutin’s signature toe-cleavage it is the definition of understated sexiness as it elongates your legs.  The color easily goes with everything – it should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe.  These are a few of my favorites.
